Job description

Our Transport Company client is looking to employ an experienced ETM Manager to be based at one of their Business Units in Sandton. Must have knowledge of the bus passenger industry.

Job Requirements

The ideal applicant will possess the following:

  1. Grade 12 or equivalent qualifications
  2. Relevant IT qualifications
  3. 5 Years' experience within the IT Environment (Systems, Network, Active Directory and Share Drive / File)
  4. Microsoft Applications
  5. Admin related functions
  6. Good understanding of Ticketing systems, fares and routes
  7. Good understanding of Passenger Transport Operations

Responsibilities

The ETM Manager will manage and control all SmartTap System related issues, including:

  1. Be responsible for the maintenance and upkeeping of the SmartTap system at all Business Units.
  2. Be the Project Manager of all SmartTap related projects.
  3. Support the Business Unit Management with regards to any SmartTap related issues and requests.
  4. Manage and control all SmartTap devices with Minet Technicians.
  5. Monitor all defects reported at all Business Units.
  6. Liaise and monitor all new bus installations, de-installations, and transfer of devices on buses.
  7. Monitor trends regarding driver transactions and Multi Journey Ticket declines.
  8. Support the ETM Officers with regards to any shift changes.
  9. Support the ETM Officers with regards to any route changes.
  10. Setup Cash Fares and Multi Journey Fares on the system.
  11. Pre-approve any above changes.
  12. Support the ETM Officers with regards to Annual Fare increase, both Season and cash prices.
  13. Publication of Routes and Fares.
  14. Maintain all Business Units Dataset information and liaise with TicketPro and Bpass vendor.
  15. Investigate and find solutions for any passenger queries and provide feedback to passengers.
  16. Investigate any possible passenger fraud or misuse of tickets.
  17. Investigate and liaise with BluLabel Multi Journey Sales at Outlets.
  18. Setup and install SmartTap system computers and printers.
  19. Support Users with any IT related problems.
  20. Liaise with the IT department regarding any IT related requests or support.
  21. Create New Users on the SmartTap System and assign the correct rights.
  22. Disable Users on the system as requested by the Business Units.
  23. Support and assist the Users with regards to any problems or support they may need.
  24. Add or disable Drivers Profiles.
  25. Support Transport Officers, Administration / Operations staff, Cashiers, and ETM Officers.
  26. Train ETM officers, Admin staff, Cashiers, Transport Officers, Revenue officers, Driver Trainers.
  27. Create Orders and GRV all TicketPro Monthly Invoices.
  28. Ensure that Cash Commission Business Units Invoices are submitted to Accounts Managers.
  29. Follow up on all Insurance Claims submitted by the Business Units for SmartTap devices stolen, vandalized, or burnt.
  30. Submit FA's for claimed devices.
  31. Liaise with TicketPro and other vendors.
  32. Update and develop SmartTap Policy and Procedures.
  33. SmartTap Monthly reports to be submitted to IT Manager and Business Unit Management.
  34. UAT and SAT of the Dataset.
  35. Setup ETM Test Data.
  36. Manage all Change Control documents and processes.
  37. Setup Passenger support systems and tools.

Working Conditions

Normal Company's conditions of employment. Involves a fair amount of travelling between Business Units.
