PRODUCTION MANAGER
About the Client:
Founded in 1951, this company is a leading South African manufacturer and supplier of high-quality building materials. Its diverse product range includes wooden and aluminium doors and windows, garage doors, insulation boards, and decorative mouldings. Operating across Southern Africa, the UK, and the US, the company distributes its products through an extensive depot network and fleet. In 2022, it was acquired by new investors in a R1.3 billion deal to expand its market presence and enhance distribution capabilities.
Remuneration: R720,000.00 -R840,000.00 per annum (Includes Pension, Group Life & Risk Benefits, and Medical Aid)
Location: Atlantis, Western Cape
Main Purpose of the Job:
Reporting to the Production Executive, the Production Manager will oversee production processes and activities within a small to medium team. Responsibilities include implementing company policies, maintaining operational standards, and driving World Class Manufacturing principles.
Minimum Requirements:
- South African Citizen
- Degree or Diploma in Production, Operations Management, or Engineering
- 8-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a managerial role within a small to medium-scale manufacturing concern
- Experience in EPS/XPS Polystyrene extrusion (advantageous)
- Proven leadership and management abilities
- Strong background in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing
Key Performance Areas:
- Manage, monitor, and evaluate production processes to meet targets
- Oversee daily operations and performance of production personnel
- Ensure and report on product quality parameters
- Develop and implement efficiency improvements for people, plant, machinery, and equipment
- Manage raw material stock levels
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements

- Strong management and leadership skills

- Knowledge of Bill of Materials (BOMs)
