Our client, a leading player in the FMCG manufacturing sector, is seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee daily food manufacturing operations, ensuring production targets are met.
Responsibilities:
Monitor production schedules, adjust workflow as needed, and optimize efficiency
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations (HACCP, ISO, FSSC 22000) and other industry standards
Lead, train, and develop production staff, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability
Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste
Maintain and enforce health and safety protocols in the production environment
Collaborate with quality control, logistics, and procurement teams to ensure product quality and timely delivery
Troubleshoot equipment issues, liaise with maintenance teams, and ensure minimal downtime
Maintain accurate production records, generate reports, and analyze performance metrics
Assist in cost control measures to optimize raw material usage and reduce overhead costs
Requirements:
Grade 12
Diploma / Degree in Food Science, Production Management, or related field
Proven experience in a supervisory role, with a minimum of 5 years in a similar position
At least 5 years of experience in the FMCG / Cold Chain / Supply Chain industry, preferably in a fast-moving consumable goods (FMCG) manufacturing-related industry
Strong knowledge of food production processes, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and HACCP principles
Familiarity with factory automation systems and production planning software
Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and extended hours when necessary
Valid drivers’ license and own transport
Computer literate and proficient in administration, record-keeping, and procurement systems
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure
