Production Engineer

Job Location : KwaZulu-Natal, Richards Bay

Your mission :

1. Troubleshooting and root cause analysis
2. Tracking plant production and OEE and analysing the data and developing solutions
3. Materials and stock management
4. Shut planning and coordination
5. Process safety risk management and quality control
6. Assist the Production Manager with people development
7. Contractor management
8. Ensure continuous improvement and process optimization
9. Research and propose potential trials for new processes and/or equipment
10. Develop SOPs, BOPs, and WOP and troubleshooting guides
11. Provide tools for production team to monitor environmental impact of the process
12. Manage budget and cost deviations (own area)
13. Safety, health and environmental risk management
14. Assess the environmental impact of production process to comply with legislation and permit limits
15. Perform standby duties as required.
16. Coordinate gatekeeping meetings (G1, 2 and 3)
17. Liaise with maintenance teams to ensure equipment safety and efficiency
18. Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and other relevant legislation

Your profile :

1. BSc Chemical Engineering or equivalent
2. Qualification in lean six sigma will be advantageous
3. Post Graduate qualification will be advantageous
4. Professional affiliation to an accredited body such as IChemE / SAIChE will be advantageous
5. SAP system experience will be advantageous
6. PI process book system experience will be advantageous
7. South African Driver’s License
8. 5 – 10 years’ experience in Process Engineering in a specialist, supervisor or management role within the Pulp and Paper Industry
9. At least 3 years’ experience in a supervisory or people management position.
