Product Quality Manager
Main Purpose
- Delivers Quality in all we do and exceed customers’ expectations in the Republic of South Africa (RSA) both Foundation and Commercial.
- Co-creates with and for customers to release the Best Quality product on time & in Full safeguarding our LTO.
- Collaborates across Mission teams to ensure strong partnership and knowledge exchange, enabling successful delivery of RC Mission outcomes and be part of the Product Quality Unit Squad.
Key Tasks And Responsibilities
- Manages Product Quality activities related to product specifications, inspection plans, product placement, seed batch usage decisions/release, product recall & substitution, securing seed stewardship & compliance.
- Plans and develops Product Quality strategy in accordance with regulatory needs, business growth strategy and customer needs in close connections with the stakeholders focusing on the overall Mission objectives and Strategic Business Plan.
- Collaborates with Breeding, Pre-Foundation, Production Research, Seed Applied solutions, Product Teams, One Management, Data and Digital to ensure superior Quality products are designed and participate in PMT providing feedback for Quality improvements, tools and innovations.
- Designs and safeguards communication of non-conforming Outputs related to production process, manufacturing process, product preservation, inspection plans and release that could represent a significant risk to customers, business and/or seed Supply challenges.
- Aligns on RSA Quality strategy across the Mission teams, business initiatives and imperatives including movement, testing plans, release, preservation and carry over management.
- Develops and manages cost management initiatives related to Quality and defines reliability innovations in collaboration with the RC mission team - Resource allocation, flows & Quality decision rights for efficiency.
- Trains RC Mission and Supply Chain Mission teams incorporating Customer Facing and Customer facing support Squads on Quality specifications & preservation in addition to complaint management.
- Leads complaint management and investigation for timely, accurate resolution and reporting ensuring best customer experience and liaise with One Management Systems for complaint management tools and trainings.
- Collaborates with Stewardship and relevant stakeholders for effective incident reporting, visibility, investigations and prevention to safeguard our License to Operate.
- Delivers Value through RFT (Right the First Time) and FEFO deployment improving the Quality of our Inventory through Prioritization and contribute to managing DNO/WOFFS and forecasting.
- Contributes to the continuous improvement of the Production and Reliability Programs and be a change leader for continuous improvement and optimization programs, secure effective corrective actions implementation.
- Designs product and Product Quality Reports/metrics periodically and ad hoc by collating, analyzing, and summarizing info & trends and recommending improvement plans within the RSA Mission Teams.
- Plans and organizes grow-outs to guarantee Complete Seed certification and release collaborating with production and Quality Testing to secure batch final certification with SANSOR.
Skills And Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree/master’s in agriculture, Seed Technology, Agronomy or related fields.
- Must have 7+ years' experience in Seed Production, Manufacturing and Quality management.
- Possesses Quality Management system and audit skills.
- Communication and Reporting skills including data analytics.
- Good understanding of Seed Regulations in the country, ISTA rules and OECD seed schemes.
- Ability to work cross-functionally within an organization.
- Ability to lead with informal authority and authentic team leader.
- Self-motivated, strategic thinker and systematic in approach.
- ERP and Inventory management.
