Key Responsibilities

1. Delivering and implementing departmental business plans that support the SBU’s merchandise strategy.
2. Managing departmental forecasts to achieve agreed departmental growth and profitability as per the Business Plan.
3. Preparing and delivering merchandise assortment plans that support the signed-off departmental business strategy.
4. Ensuring sufficient inflows to maintain agreed replenishment service levels to achieve agreed departmental growth and profitability as per the Business Plan.
5. Providing accurate and timely merchandise information to minimise risk and optimise business opportunities.
6. Executing and managing project plans to achieve the agreed objectives (if applicable).

Qualifications Required

1. A Grade 12 certificate is an essential requirement.
2. A qualification would be a definite advantage. Preferred qualifications are:
3. B. Comm./ B. Science degree in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Stats and Business Science OR
4. National Diploma majoring in Internal Auditing and Cost and Management Accounting OR
5. National Diploma in Financial Information Systems

Knowledge Of

1. The retail merchandise cycle with regards to Buying, Planning, Logistics and Stores.
2. Seasonal & non-seasonal replenishments.
3. The SA retail clothing market, customers, and competitors.

Preferred Experience

1. Replenishment and assortment planning experience.
2. Prior store planning experience.
3. Previous store management experience (1 – 2 years).
4. Previous exposure to general logistics and supply chain processes.
5. Experience working in planning systems.
6. Experience working with the most recent Microsoft software, including Word and Excel, is a prerequisite. Proficiency in advanced Excel usage would be an asset.
