Product Development Engineer

Broadband Infraco, is a long distance national and international optic fibre connectivity network infrastructure provider based in Radiokop, seeks to appoint a suitable candidate to the following employment opportunity:

Responsibilities:

1. Lead the end-to-end development of new fibre and wireless broadband products.
2. Design scalable and reliable broadband solutions for enterprise, wholesale, and residential customers.
3. Develop and improve product features based on customer needs and emerging technologies.
4. Manage the entire product lifecycle from concept and prototyping to deployment and performance monitoring.
5. Continuously analyse product performance and implement upgrades to improve service quality and customer satisfaction.
6. Oversee product testing, including lab and field trials, to ensure service reliability and performance standards.
7. Conduct thorough market research and competitor analysis to identify trends and customer needs.
8. Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to align product development with market demand.
9. Recommend strategic product development initiatives based on data analysis and market forecasts.
10. Work closely with network engineers, customer solution engineers and operations teams to integrate new products into the company's infrastructure.
11. Liaise with vendors and technology partners.
12. Develop and maintain technical documentation, including product specifications, user guides, and installation procedures.
13. Drive continuous improvement in the company's product portfolio, focusing on efficiency, performance, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications and Experience:

1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
2. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in product development or engineering, ideally in a telecommunications or broadband company.
3. Strong background in fibre optic and wireless technologies, IP products, and networking protocols such as BGP, MPLS, IPv4 / IPv6.
4. Excellent communication and presentation skills for both technical and nontechnical audiences.
5. Experience with internet and broadband products, including SD-WAN, cloud services, and network security solutions.
6. Knowledge of core network design, IP backbone, fibre networks (DWDM and OTN), and wireless technologies (Wi-Fi, LTE, 5G).
7. Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
