As the Team Lead: Product Actuary, you will direct the development and management of competitive risk cover products, overseeing all aspects of product and customer experience to ensure profitability and market relevance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Data Analysis: Analyze product and client data to identify issues and ensure accurate insights.
- Competitive Assessment: Evaluate competitor products and global trends to maintain a competitive edge.
- Experience with Investigations: Conduct investigations and data analysis for product design, pricing, and monitoring.
- Reporting: Prepare and present product health reports to inform decision-making.
- Product Improvement: Implement strategies to enhance product performance and client service.
- Pricing Models: Develop and maintain accurate pricing models and bases.
- Operational Efficiency: Identify cost-effective solutions to improve operational efficiency.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with practices and timelines through effective monitoring.
- Client Relations: Offer technical/actuarial product expertise and foster collaborative relationships with stakeholders.
- Leadership and Development: Cultivate a culture of collaboration and continuous learning, manage team performance, and facilitate employee growth.
Qualifications:
- Education: Degree in Actuarial Sciences, Statistical Analysis, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Professional Certification: Qualified Actuary (FASSA / FIA / etc.).
- Technical Knowledge: Proficient in actuarial modeling, product pricing, and statistical analysis techniques.
- Experience: 3-5 years in a product owner/manager role.
- Additional Skills:
- Familiarity with RiskAgility / Prophet.
- Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Proficiency in VBA and SQL is advantageous.
