Process Engineer

We’re on the lookout for an experienced Process Engineer to review the effectiveness of processes in the operation from end to end and design process improvements to ensure higher production, less waste, and improved consistency of quality standards.

As a Process Engineer, you will be responsible for:

1. Processing development and optimisation.
2. Managing projects from inception to implementation including commissioning of new equipment.
3. Updating, publishing and communicating process flow diagrams, process and instrumentation diagrams, functional design specifications, and mass and energy balances.
4. Updating product specifications for the area and communicating to plant personnel.
5. Reviewing start-up and shut down procedures, best operating practices, and training manuals.
6. High level troubleshooting.
7. Root cause failure analysis and close outs.
8. Developing high level process designs.
9. Carrying out and participating in feasibility studies.
10. Leading design review meetings and conducting peer reviews of new designs.
11. Creating an understanding of environmental standards and engineering improvements with current and future legislative requirements in mind.

What are we looking for?

1. BSc Chemical Engineering Degree.
2. At least 5 years’ experience as a Process Engineer in a manufacturing / heavy industry environment.
3. Experience in the Pulp & Paper industry would be an advantage.
4. Registration as a Professional Engineer is an added advantage.
5. SAP experience preferred.
