Process Engineer

2x Process Engineer for an automotive manufacturing company in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape.

Requirements:

1. National Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering
2. Experience in press tooling supported with relevant experience
3. Good knowledge of sheet metal pressing
4. Good knowledge of welding process
5. Strong discipline to drive team members for results
6. Excellent analytical skills
7. Excellent knowledge and experience in manufacturing processes and procedures
8. 5-Years in a large automotive manufacturing environment

Main Responsibilities:

1. Project Implementation: Oversee the successful execution of new projects, ensuring quality, delivery, and cost efficiency.
2. Engineering and Process Changes: Collaborate with customers to implement engineering and process changes that improve product quality and delivery.
3. Tool and Die Maintenance: Maintain stamping dies using techniques like die spotting, punch fitting, formability improvements, and relevant hand tools.
4. Technology and Process Standardization: Drive the implementation of standardized technologies and processes.
5. Technical Innovation: Verify and initiate the implementation of innovative technical solutions.
6. Critical Process and Product Characteristics: Define and manage critical process and product characteristics, including the Bill of Material.
7. Cost Estimation: Develop competitive plant cost estimates and implement them through the ECR system.
8. Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement through the implementation of BOSLE principles and best practices.
9. Human Resources: Foster a respectful work environment, recruit, develop, and retain a qualified, motivated, and productive workforce.
10. Technical Interpretation: Interpret drawings and specifications to determine optimal practices.
