Process Engineer

A battery remanufacturing company in Germiston is seeking a Process Engineer.

As Process Engineer, you will safely and effectively supervise and coordinate the work activities and resources of the Breaker, Smelter, and Refinery departments to contribute to the profitability of the company. You will optimize the production of lead alloys to satisfy the identified needs of the sales department operating from the manufacturing plant in Wadeville - Germiston.

EDUCATION:

1. Degree in Metallurgical Engineering
2. Minimum 2 years’ experience in non-ferrous metals manufacturing environment
3. Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
4. Demonstrated ability in improving efficiency of production processes

DUTIES:

1. Production Monitoring – Monitoring and controlling production processes to most effectively utilize available resources.
2. Project Management – Effective project management to drive improvement projects through to completion.
3. Change Management – Ability to effect change and gain buy-in from all stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
4. Effectively supervise – Effective resource management and correct utilization of consumables as per the SOPs and WIs to meet production targets.
5. Profitability – Supervise resources to identify bottlenecks and non-compliances and correct them.
6. Compliance with Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality initiatives of the company.
7. Ensure target ZERO/ZERO harm in the departments.
8. Management of process, material, and equipment.
