About The Opportunity

Our AMEE team is currently searching for a Principal Consultant Geologist located from our Johannesburg Office. In this role you will be responsible for delivering high quality pre-sales activity for Micromine Origin, including technical product demonstrations, tenders, proof of concept model builds, software evaluation, campaigns, promotions, conferences and events.

Micromine Origin is a comprehensive exploration, modelling and resource estimation solution. Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Strong ability to build trust and relationships with customers.
• Solution orientation; curiosity for customers' business, operations and problems and able to design and present appropriate solutions.
• Provide effective technical presentations and demonstrations to customers.
• Project management of proof of concepts.
• Detailed understanding of geological software solutions (e.g. databases, resource modelling, resource estimation, grade control).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate with senior personnel within mining organisations.
• A passion for learning about, and utilising, new technologies and service delivery methods.

About You

You will have a background in exploration or mining geology positions. You have had an exposure to client facing positions or have proven communication, presentation and relationship building skills.

Other key skills, experience, and qualifications:

• Possess a tertiary degree in Geology, Earth Sciences or Engineering.
• 15+ years of experience with geological or mining software solutions.
• 10+ years of operational experience on a mine site.
• Experience with customer success / support or having proven presentation and relationship building skills.
