Prime Services Devops Support

Investec Sandton is searching for a Support Analyst in Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) with experience in Electronic Trading Execution and Foreign Exchange.

The candidate will be responsible for working in production support on numerous BAU and projects, as well as providing assistance for the bank's trading systems.

This function requires logical and systematic thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to transform a long-term strategic vision, client objectives, and business needs into system and process solutions.

Independent and unique thinking will be necessary, and to meet expectations, the Business Analyst will frequently have to handle difficult problems/issues, particularly when various systems, clients, and technologies are involved and not all of the information is immediately available.

To contribute to the development of a pleasant work environment, the support analyst should be able to operate both alone and collaboratively.

They will work on daily issues pertaining to both application development and support.

The role encompasses many aspects of business efficiencies, such as gathering business requirements, analyzing systems and processes, configuring systems and reporting to important stakeholders, quality assurance, training, debugging and fixing code, documentation, and supporting applications' overall uptime.

The ideal workplace will be one that is fast-paced, high-energy, and requires teamwork as well as engagement with clients and system providers.

They must be someone who consistently wants to perform what is asked of them in addition to wanting to constantly seek to improve processes in order to deliver a higher quality product more efficiently.

Description of the skill and experience required

Relevant experience in support and basic development.

1. IT or Business qualification
2. An in-depth understanding of trading products, equities, derivatives, bonds, CFDs, SSFs, FX etc. is a plus.
3. An in-depth understanding of the business area's Trading.
4. Minimum related IT Support Analyst experience required, in various aspects of trading within Capital Markets.
5. Good understanding of trading processes in each of the areas from front, middle, and back office.
6. Ability to understand/write code (Languages C#, Java, Python), scripts, and database (SQL) queries is a must.
7. Experience in systems such as BDA, Streambase, Itiviti, Front Arena, Iress Pro, Maxxtrader, Digitec, Refinitiv, Bloomberg, Axetrader is a plus.
