Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and results-driven PMO Consultant – Technology Procurement Implementation to support our client's portfolio of projects. In this dynamic contractor role, you will oversee the management and delivery of tech procurement processes, ensuring the timely acquisition of the right resources and solutions to meet business needs.

You will also provide essential PMO support, ensuring the successful implementation of technology projects through program assurance, budget tracking, and alignment with corporate goals.

Your strong understanding of technology and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams will be pivotal in driving efficiency, managing risks, and ensuring the successful execution of high-impact initiatives.

This is a 6-month contract with potential for extension, offering flexibility and the opportunity to work within a fast-paced and strategic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Technical Support for Portfolio Companies: Provide expert technical assistance to portfolio companies, addressing their IT needs and ensuring alignment with organizational standards.
  2. Centralized Tech Procurement: Manage and streamline the procurement process for technological resources across portfolio companies, ensuring cost-effectiveness and compliance with company policies.
  3. Project Management Office (PMO) Support:
    1. Implementation Assurance: Oversee project implementations to ensure they adhere to approved budgets and timelines.
    2. Budget Management: Monitor project expenditures and ensure financial objectives are met.
    3. Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks in project execution and develop mitigation strategies.
    4. Stakeholder Communication: Facilitate clear and effective communication among project stakeholders, including executives, project managers, and technical teams.
    5. Dashboard Development: Design and maintain comprehensive dashboards to provide real-time insights into project statuses, resource allocation, and key performance indicators.
    6. Expert Coordination: Recognize when specialized expertise is required and coordinate with external consultants or internal specialists to address specific project challenges.

Experience Required:

  1. Minimum of 4 years in technical project management or a PMO role, preferably within a consulting environment.
  2. Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, software development, and technology procurement processes.
  3. Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  4. Experience in developing and utilizing dashboards for project tracking and reporting.
  5. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with a knack for simplifying complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  2. Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification.
