RPO Recruitment’s client in the Mining Industry is urgently seeking the expertise of a Plant Manager in Port Shepstone, KwaZulu-Natal.
Responsibilities
Manage and coordinate all resources and processes to maximise the productivity of daily production in terms of quality standards, production volumes, yields, costs and lost time.
Develop and maintain process knowledge competences at the factory (including technical and management competencies, talent review, career and succession planning).
Lead, organise and control the Carbonates plant including required resources such as manpower, equipment, etc. in order to meet established production requirements at the agreed efficiency levels.
Ensure that employees are suitably qualified by frequently reviewing their competency and establishing training needs to ensure a competent workforce whilst also effectively managing performance.
Develop and manage systems and processes that guarantee sustained plant utilisation together with continuous improvement & effective root cause analysis and associated corrective action.
Ensure that work carried out by subordinates complies with work instructions, quality assurance plans, legislation such as ISO 9001, Mine Health and Safety Act.
Manage dispute resolution processes and consultation sessions to ensure that subordinates comply with the policy and procedure.
Operate according to and maintain Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality Standards and Procedures.
Management of warehousing and stock control for all warehouses under Carbonates.
Requirements
Grade 12.
BSc in Mining Engineering or Chemical Engineering.
10 years’ experience in a management/leadership position.
12 years' experience in a Plant Mining environment.

Salary: R960K/yr - R1.2Mil/yr, salary negotiable.
