MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

To effectively deliver support to the Pharmacy Managers by acting as a liaison between relevant stakeholders and by facilitating and co-ordinating various key outputs and objectives to ensure efficiency within the department/function.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

  • To provide support to Pharmacy as a function and to relevant stakeholders with regard to pharmacy processes.
  • To facilitate Continuous Improvement initiatives where required in order to optimally manage the utilisation of standard processes related to Pharmacy.
  • To ensure that accurate analysis and investigations are conducted with regard to Funder Relation queries and discrepancies.
  • Delivers support with regard to Project Management within the Pharmacy Operational Department / Function.
  • To maintain a client-focused perspective in order to effectively meet client expectations and in so doing ensure client satisfaction.

REQUIRED EDUCATION

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION

  • B.Pharm or equivalent.

DESIRED EDUCATION

  • Secondary qualification in financial/operational management.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

  • 5-8 Years of post-qualification experience.
  • At least 5 years of management experience in a Private Institutional Pharmacy Environment.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE

Experience in pharmacy financial operations within a private hospital.

REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Scope of Practice for Nurses.
  • Pharmaceutical Legislation.
  • Competent in using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Proficient in pharmacy operational systems in a hospital environment.
  • SAP Business Intelligence System.
  • Stakeholder Management.
  • Ability to influence people.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and writing).
  • Organisational skills.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Critical thinking skills and the ability to make decisions independently.
  • Data analysis and interpretation.
  • Project management principles and the ability to apply these in the workplace.
  • Knowledge and experience of quality improvement methodology.
