About the Role

We are seeking a reputable Pharmacist to join our team at our Rustenburg store.

Key Responsibilities

1. Provision of pharmaceutical care by taking responsibility for patients' medicine-related needs and being accountable for meeting those needs.
2. Evaluation of a patient's medicine-related needs, including determining the indication, safety, and effectiveness of the therapy.
3. Dispensing of medicines or scheduled substances on prescription and checking prescriptions prepared by assistants or interns.
4. Furnishing information and advice to patients regarding the use of medicines.
5. Determining patient compliance with therapy and following up to ensure that patients' medicine-related needs are being met.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Provision of pharmacist-initiated therapy.
2. Compounding, manipulation, preparation, or packaging of medicines or scheduled substances, or supervision thereof.
3. Purchasing, acquiring, importing, keeping, possessing, using, releasing, storing, packaging, re-packaging, supplying, or selling of medicines or scheduled substances, or supervision thereof.
4. Application for registration of medicines in accordance with the Medicines Act and Pharmacy Act.
5. Acts specially pertaining to the profession of a pharmacist as prescribed above.
6. Formulation of medicines for registration purposes.
7. Distribution of medicines or scheduled substances.
8. Re-packaging of medicines.
9. Initiation and conducting of pharmaceutical research and development.
10. Promotion of public health.

Requirements

• Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council.
• Minimum 2-3 years experience in Pharmaceutical retail pharmacy.
• Computer literate, MS Office.
• Strong command of the English language and a second language.
• Good communication skills, listening.
• Basic dosing and important drug interactions.
• Customer service/focus.
• Supervisor experience, able to lead by example.
• Ability to train other staff members.
• Conflict management.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Sound numerical skills.

Working Conditions

Physically fit and able to stand for long periods. Valid driver's license and own reliable transport. South African citizen, MIE clear credit and criminal records.
