Job Description

ROLE OVERVIEW

As the Personalization Analytics lead at the Bank, you will play a pivotal role in driving data-driven decision-making processes within the Personalization function.

Reporting directly to the Head of Personalization, you will be responsible for leading a team of data scientists, analysts and business intelligence to manage our data estate, extract actionable insights from data, optimize experiences, and enhance customer engagement strategies.

KEY RESULT AREAS

  1. Develop and execute the Banks Personalization data strategy, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and area goals.
  2. Lead the collection, analysis, and interpretation of Personalization data from various sources, including customer interactions, core IT systems, customer outcomes and market research.
  3. Manage the implementation, and integration of tools and platforms to support data collection and analysis.
  4. Utilize advanced analytics techniques to uncover trends, patterns, and opportunities for optimization across Personalization and potential new personalised use cases.
  5. Implement A/B testing methodologies to measure effectiveness of production level experimentation in order to inform data-driven adjustments to customer experiences.
  6. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Performance Marketing, Brand, Phygital Marketing, Onboarding, Credit Risk and CX, to integrate data-driven insights into decision-making processes.
  7. Design and implement robust measurement frameworks and KPIs to evaluate the effectiveness of Personalization initiatives and drive continuous improvement.
  8. Develop a deep understanding of the commercial levers within Personalization. Use this understanding to inform data-driven decision-making processes and optimize strategies for maximum ROI and business impact.
  9. Drive the development and maintenance of dashboards and reporting tools to provide real-time visibility into key performance metrics.
  10. Identify and prioritize data requirements for Personalization initiatives, working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  11. Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in marketing analytics, and recommend innovative solutions to enhance our data capabilities.
  12. Mentor and develop a high-performing team of data analysts and insights specialists, fostering a culture of collaboration, learning, and excellence.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  1. Post graduate degree in Statistics, Data Science, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 8- 10 years’ experience in analytics and data-driven decision-making, preferably within the financial services industry, and banking in particular.
  3. Minimum of 3 - 5 Years’ experience in a leadership role within an analytics environment.
  4. Strong proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques, including SQL, Python, R, or similar languages.
  5. Demonstrated expertise in data visualization tools such as Amazon QuickSight, Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
  6. Experience in AWS native technologies.
  7. Experience with customer data platforms, marketing automation platforms, CRM systems, and digital analytics tools.
  8. Comprehensive understanding of AB testing capabilities and technology, ensuring robust experimentation and learnings cadence.
  9. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex data insights into actionable recommendations for non-technical audiences.
  10. Strong leadership capabilities, with a track record of building and managing high-performing teams.
  11. Strategic mindset with a focus on driving business outcomes through data-driven marketing strategies.
  12. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and effectively manage multiple priorities.
  13. Experience operating within an agile environment would be advantageous.

The appointment will be made from the designated group in line with the Employment Equity Plan of Old Mutual South Africa and the specific business unit.
