Permanent - Welding Inspector - Rustenburg - South Africa

Job Responsibilities

• Perform thorough inspections of welding operations to ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings, and applicable standards.
• Verify that all dimensions, tolerances, and material specifications align with approved designs.
• Conduct quality checks on welds, ensuring they meet applicable codes, standards, and customer requirements.
• Oversee welding processes, including preparation, execution, and post-welding activities, to ensure adherence to quality standards.
• Identify and document non-conformances, propose corrective actions, and follow up on implementation.
• Collaborate with welders, supervisors, and project teams to address and resolve any quality-related issues.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and provide detailed reports on findings.
• Ensure that all welding equipment and materials meet specified requirements before use.
• Stay updated on industry standards, including ASME, AWS, ISO, and other relevant codes.
• Assist with audits and quality control processes as needed.

Minimum Requirements

• Level 3 Welding Inspector certification (e.g., AWS Certified Welding Inspector, CSWIP 3.2, or equivalent).
• Proven experience as a Welding Inspector in a manufacturing, construction, or engineering environment.
• Strong knowledge of welding techniques, materials, and relevant codes and standards.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify defects and deviations.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
