Interpret drawings and instructions as necessary to ensure correct manufacturing methods are followed.
Carry out component manufacturing in accordance with engineering practices and verbal instructions, improvising where necessary.
Ensure that standard maintenance practices are adhered to throughout the company on a daily basis.
Monitor and maintain supplies to ensure availability when necessary.
Install new machinery as required, ensuring installation is carried out according to engineering instructions.
Perform fault finding on machine breakdowns to determine methods of rectification.
Conduct fault finding on machines operating at 230V and 380V.
Monitor the preventative maintenance programme to ensure compliance with the maintenance schedule.
Perform maintenance on hydraulic and pneumatic machines.
Conduct fault finding on packaging machines and flexographic printing machines.
Liaise with the Factory Manager to comply with workload requirements and maintain order of priorities.
Maintain the maintenance record system.
Ensure safety standards are maintained in accordance with current legislation.
Attend weekly meetings to report on maintenance activities.
Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation.
Perform any other reasonable work as instructed by management.
Minimum of 5 years experience in production-related maintenance.
Technical Qualification/Trade – Preferably a MILLWRIGHT.
Mechanical knowledge and experience (preferable).
Experience in tape conversion (advantageous).
Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings.
Self-management of the maintenance function.
Qualification: Matric + Technical Qualification/Trade preferably a MILLWRIGHT.
