Job Description:
Directs the Sales, Business Development & Customer Service departments to achieve budgeted results and other financial criteria, and to preserve the capital funds invested in the Group.
Participates in the development and preparation of short-term and long-range plans based upon broad organisation goals and objectives. Recommends their adoption to the Managing Director.
Directs the development and implementation of procedures and controls, to promote communication and adequate information flow, and thereby solidify management control and direction of the Group.
Implements proactive and focused sales plans.
Supervises Sales & Business Development Managers.
Seeks out major clients and forms working relationships with the premier buyers in the industry.
Identifies valuable emerging markets.
Accurately forecasts future sales and forms sales plans to adapt to constant shifts in the marketplace.
Serves as a business representative at major industry events, conferences, trade shows, and expositions.
Maximizes company profit through pricing strategies.
Foresees and avoids stagnation in the marketplace.
Forms sales strategies to keep the company competitive and innovative.
Establishes policies (together with the leadership team) that promote the company’s culture, values, and vision.
Performs any other related duties as the Managing Director may require from time to time.
Minimum Qualifications:
Job-specific knowledge with a minimum qualification of a Bachelor’s Degree (NQF7) in Engineering, Finance or Management or adequate skill and knowledge to perform the duties and responsibilities.
Experience:
5-10 years of sales experience, with 3-5 years in a senior leadership role, successfully leading and motivating teams.
Requirements:
Driver’s License and ability to travel if required.
Proven track record of successfully managing Sales, Business Development, and Customer Service departments in organisations of similar sizes.
An overall working knowledge with at least one ERP System, preferably Syspro.
Expertise in MS Office Suite.
Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015.
Relevant industry experience and knowledge of the target market.
