Permanent - Field Sales Engineer - Ekurhuleni (East Rand) - South Africa

Job Responsibilities

1. Establish, maintain, and manage all aspects of the relationship with the customer, including technical, marketing, and internal sales support.
2. Establish both short-term and long-term customer needs to identify the total business potential available.
3. Develop and review account objectives and strategies, addressing customer needs and business objectives.
4. Proactively promote and sell the full portfolio and products in support of marketing requirements and strategies to all potential customers, including defense and aerospace.
5. Proactively identify and pursue ‘design-in’ opportunities, utilizing technical support as appropriate.
6. Liaise and work with internal departments as appropriate, effectively coordinating resources.
7. In partnership with suppliers, initiate and drive joint visits to major customers.
8. Establish and regularly review and maintain professional customer profile and strategy documents.
9. Prepare sales forecasts and budgets.
10. Include Call Plans and MML’s as part of monthly reporting.
11. Research and investigate potential business opportunities and competitor information.
12. Prepare and deliver presentations to existing and new major customers at senior management and director level.
13. Prepare and deliver presentations at sales meetings and progress with new and existing major accounts.
14. Attend and participate in regular sales and product training sessions/meetings.
15. Ensure that negotiations with customers fall within defined costing/financial parameters.
16. Ensure effective conversion of orders into sales by managing the activities of the sales administrator(s) reporting to this position.
17. Assume additional responsibilities requested by the customer as necessary and/or as assigned by management.
18. Ensure compliance with governance systems such as POPIA, ISO, etc., that are in place, i.e., policies, procedures, and reporting structures.

Minimum Qualifications

Electronics engineering qualification or business administration qualifications.
