Accounts Payable Specialist Responsibilities

1. Accounts Payable Processing: Process and manage all incoming supplier invoices, ensuring that they are accurate and paid on time.
2. Reconciliation: Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies or issues with suppliers or the internal team.
3. Payment Management: Prepare payment runs and ensure that payments are made in accordance with company procedures and deadlines.
4. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all accounts payable transactions in the accounting system.
5. Vendor Communication: Liaise with vendors to address queries and resolve any issues related to accounts payable.
6. Invoice Verification: Ensure that all invoices received match purchase orders, receipts, and contracts before processing.
7. Expense Reporting: Assist with the preparation of expense reports and ensure proper approval procedures are followed.
8. Assist with Month-End Closing: Support the finance team with month-end and year-end financial closing processes as needed.
9. Compliance: Ensure that all accounts payable activities adhere to company policies, accounting standards, and legal requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A diploma or degree in accounting or finance is an advantage.
2. Experience: Proven experience in accounts payable, creditors, or a similar finance role. Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar) is preferred.
3. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
6. Strong time management and organizational skills.
7. Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices.
