Permanent - Communication Specialist - Ekurhuleni (East Rand) - South Africa

Position Overview: As a communication specialist, your role will be critical in managing our communication strategy and enhancing our public image.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies.
2. Manage internal and external communications to ensure consistent messaging and brand image.
3. Create, edit, and distribute engaging content across various platforms, including press releases, newsletters, social media, and the company website.
4. Collaborate with different departments to gather information and ensure accurate and timely communication.
5. Monitor media coverage and public perception, developing strategies to enhance the company’s reputation.
6. Plan and execute public relations campaigns and events to promote the company’s image and initiatives.
7. Provide strategic counsel and adept crisis communication support, ensuring clear and compelling messaging.
8. Write, edit, and proofread communication materials, including press releases, articles, blog posts, and social media content.
9. Develop and maintain relationships with media contacts, journalists, and influencers.
10. Manage press conferences, media briefings, and other public relations events.
11. Monitor and analyze media coverage, providing regular insights and recommendations for improvement.
12. Manage the company’s social media presence, including content creation, posting, and engagement.
13. Prepare internal communications, including memos, newsletters, and presentations for employees and stakeholders.
14. Collaborate with marketing and design teams to create visually appealing and effective external communication materials.
15. Plan, organize, and support corporate communication events and public appearances.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or Marketing.
2. 3-5 years of experience as a Communication Specialist, Public Relations Officer, or a similar role in communications.
