Job description
Main functions:
To plan, coordinate and manage the daily operations, including employees, expenditure, efficiencies, and customer relations to ensure a profitable and efficient operation, by those accountable and tasks are executed timeously and effectively.

Responsibilities:
  1. Understand SAP and all SOP’s / BP’s relevant to this area of responsibility.
  2. Ensure the shift structures and staffing levels are appropriate to ensure efficient operations and that all are carrying out their job functions correctly & efficiently.
  3. Lead investigations of all incidents and non-compliances and conduct root cause and reports thereof as required.
  4. Facilitate housekeeping audits regularly, and corrective action is taken if required.
  5. Identify improvement opportunities where needed.
  6. Identify and communicate possible operational risks.
  7. Evaluate the impact of work delays, interruptions or changes in plans and develop appropriate course of remedial actions.
  8. Ensure that ECG monitor is cleared by the end of each shift and any problems are escalated.
  9. Ensure all bins are setup correctly and available for use.
  10. Ensure article master data is correct.
  11. Ensure all case and inner picks are allocated to the correct areas.
  12. Ensure all transgressors are identified and escalated to the operations team for progressive discipline.
  13. Respond to all requests from management and demand planning before the end of shift.
  14. Ensure all PI docs have been cleared and all high write-ups and write-offs have been corrected before the end of shift.
  15. Ensure all interim storage locations have been cleared and any issues escalated by the end of shift.
  16. Manage all performance management aspects of direct reports and facilitate the same within the rest of the departments. Inclusive of One on ones, PDPs, IPAs and LOE.
  17. Facilitate an engaged and motivated workforce.
  18. Manage discipline and grievance aspects of all direct reports and facilitate the same within the rest of the departments.
  19. Check all write-ups for the shift and make sure all irregular SLED dated have been verified and corrected where applicable.
  20. Provide proper insight on shrinkage and feedback on weekly financial reporting.
  21. Ensure that SOH is maintained, and that the FIFO principle is followed.

Qualifications required:
  1. Matric (Senior Certificate) plus relevant tertiary qualification preferred.
  2. 3 - 4 years’ experience in Supply Chain/Warehousing environment required.
  3. In depth knowledge of inventory – SAP EWM required.
  4. Ability to accurately track & identify products, check quantities and ensure proper storage and organising. Execute assignments in an accurate, timely and safe manner.
  5. Competence in performing quality control checks.
  6. Easily identify article master data knowledge.

Physical Requirements:
  1. Willing & able to work shifts, long hours (12-hour shifts).
  2. Willing & able to work on weekends and public holidays.
  3. Regularly lift and/or move objects occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh around 35kg.
  4. Fit & in good health (Inherent physical requirements of the job).
  5. Willing & able to work at heights and confined (Narrow areas).
  6. Having good eye-hand-foot coordination.
  7. Ability to assess weights and judge distances and height.
  8. Willing & able to be multiskilled within other roles and work in other departments when required.
  9. Maintain a clean & safe environment.
  10. Able to use pallet jack up to 1 ton.
