Role Headline

The successful incumbent will be responsible for managing the Business Service operations team based in South Africa and responsible for five customers in the region. Responsible for 5 Sub-Saharan and overseeing the daily operational activities of the assigned team, plans and manages workload by assigning staff to tasks to meet requirements in terms of efficiency, quality, compliance and customer and user satisfaction while actively supporting the implementation of the H2R (Hire to Retire) transformation.

Responsibilities of the Role

  • Process Management Leadership & Team Management: Provide clear direction, motivation, and support to the administration and payroll based in South Africa (approx. 5 people), fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
  • Process Excellence: Establish and maintain robust, scalable, and efficient processes to drive consistency, quality, and compliance.
  • Stakeholder Management: Act as a trusted point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and strong relationships.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancement, champion innovation, and support initiatives for digital transformation and automation.
  • Resource Planning & Management: Ensure effective workforce planning, balancing workload and capacity to meet organisational needs.
  • Collaboration with Offshore Teams: Work closely with offshore back-office teams to drive seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
  • Technology & Digitalisation: Partner with relevant teams to leverage technology and digital tools to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.
  • Culture & Engagement: Build and maintain a positive team culture, fostering engagement, professional development, and a sense of belonging.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 5 – 8 years’ experience working in a HR shared services environment
  • 2 – 5 years proven experience of people management
  • Process and Change Management experience (advantageous)
  • Understanding of Sub-Saharan Africa Country Legislation
  • Independent worker with a proactive and calm approach to managing own priorities in a busy environment.
  • Proven experience in project and service deliverables.
  • Shaping and influencing the needs of the business whilst driving and motivating a high performing team.
  • Ability to land change effectively with a knowledge of tools and methodologies.
  • Strong stakeholder management, collaboration, communication and influencing skills.
  • Creative thinking.
  • Understanding of the employee life cycle and associated processes and tools.
  • Adaptability and resilience to withstand an ever-changing environment.
  • Flexibility in terms of working hours, travel will be required.
