To provide comprehensive People & Culture support to the organization, ensuring compliance with all relevant labour laws and company policies. This role involves a wide range of generalist functions not limited to but including recruitment, learning & development, employee relations, performance management, and administration.
Main Responsibilities of the Job:
Recruitment and Selection:
Source and screen candidates through various channels.
Conduct interviews and assess candidate suitability.
Screen and assess candidates' qualifications through phone screenings.
Manage, coordinate and conduct interviews with Line Managers and make recommendations to Line for all.
Manage probationary reviews, employee evaluations and terminations.
Ensure that the site job profiles are relevant and up to date and where job evaluation is required necessary arrangements are made with Line Manager and P&C Manager.
Evaluate candidates' skills, experience, and cultural fit during the interview process.
Manage communication with candidates, ensuring a positive candidate experience.
Negotiate offers and employment terms with selected candidates.
Assist with onboarding and orientation processes as needed to ensure a positive candidate experience.
Employee Relations:
Provide advice and guidance to employees and managers on P&C policies and procedures, disciplinary cases, grievances, investigations.
Handle employee inquiries and complaints.
Foster positive employee relations.
Review practices to ensure statutory compliance and regularly provide guidance to line managers.
Participate in consultations with organised labour.
Coach Line Managers on effective delivery of Disciplinary hearings.
Provide administrative support to the organisation in CCMA proceedings (Conciliation and Arbitration).
Prepare and advise line managers on warning letters, CCMA packs, AWOL communications.
Chair the monthly meetings with Shop Stewards and Management.
Manage and coordinate employee wellness initiatives including coordination of clinic consultations and annual medicals.
Performance Management:
Support development and implementation of performance management systems.
Coach Line Managers on Performance Management Process and Talent & Org Review process.
Coordinate the IPA processes and consolidate performance ratings.
Support the succession planning.
P&C Administration & Compliance:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records both digital and physical in adherence to POPIA and best practices.
Prepare P&C reports and metrics.
Manage new employee on-boarding processes, terminations and exit interviews.
Ensure that Recruitment and Termination packs are completed accurately.
Manage the capturing of P&C information and data into the relevant systems and assure the integrity of the data.
Provide advice and information to management and employees on P&C policies and procedures.
Counsel employees on policies and rules relating to employment policies and programmes, and on the company’s rules and regulations.
Drive change management initiatives in line with the business and organisational objectives.
Adhoc admin support for P&C initiatives.
Assist in the Standardisation of employment policy and documentation across the Group.
Employment Equity and Skills:
Assist with reporting, analysis and submission of the Workplace Skills Plan and the Annual Training Report for relevant SETA.
Assist with the compilation of EE and BBBEE info for Skills Development.
Support and facilitate BBBEE Skills Development initiatives.
Facilitate quarterly EE meetings and reporting to ensure compliance.
Qualifications & Knowledge:
Degree in Human Resources or similar field.
3 to 5 Years of experience in the field of Human Resources, preferably in a manufacturing or similar environment.
Proficiency in MS Office.
Proficient knowledge of employment laws such as BCEA, LRA, EE, SDA, and Health and Safety regulations.
