Job Title: Payroll Manager
Job Description:
The Payroll Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day execution of payroll processes and completing payroll calculations. This position is responsible for leading a country team in evaluating, analysing, and administering payroll programmes, while ensuring payroll is successfully processed with speed, accuracy, and in compliance with service and performance objectives.
- Responsible for leadership, development, implementation, and execution of country/regional payroll processes to ensure consistent and accurate payroll in compliance with local payroll practices, authoritative controls, government regulations, statutory regulations, internal procedures, Audits and SOX controls to drive execution of an effective short-term strategy.
- Calculates & approves all final payroll calculations, reconcile payroll registers and track trends, identify incomplete data and/or disbursement related issues; ensures proper funding and account reconciliation on all final payroll process.
- Establishes processes, expectations and oversight, with strong stakeholder management, driving efficiencies and improvement.
- Responsible for reporting and reconciliations of payroll taxes, forms, and processes including oversight of end-of-year activities.
- Analyses complex pay transactions to identify issues, work with internal country/regional stakeholders to determine root cause, and recommend changes and improvements to processes to prevent future occurrence.
- Establishes and implements system requirements to conduct regulatory and compliance audit with internal Finance teams, legal, external audit, and other stakeholders to ensure accuracy, financial integrity, and systems testing for payroll processes.
- Leads team in the maintenance of accurate and concise records and reports concerning all phases of the country Payroll process, working within the local payroll systems and global HRIS tools.
- Follows country trends, changes in legislation/regulation, updates to tax rules such as tax equalization, and local payroll control procedures in order to make recommendations for changes, improvements, or new technologies.
- Oversees country-specific vendor management regarding system issues, improvements, integration with HRIS systems, and identify improvements and upgrades to current systems.
- Ensures timely and accurate responses on tax notices, wage orders, and serves as liaison to government tax authorities to ensure compliance with current country payroll tax laws.
- Leads country payroll related activities specific to mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures if needed.
- Auditing payroll processes and collaborating with other teams to ensure compliance of the payroll processes.
- Assist in global work and initiatives as needed.
Candidate Profile:
- Experience in a related field and relevant Progressive Management experience.
- Experience working with SAGE payroll system is essential.
- Higher education in Accounting and Finance or related areas.
- Demonstrated ability to comprehend, analyse, and interpret.
- Solid understanding of the organization's business operations and industry; demonstrated business acumen.
- Demonstrated ability to foster customer service disposition and sense of professionalism for self and team.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and ownership with focus on continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach and provide direction to a team of employees.
- Demonstrated ability to lead team in organizing and prioritizing projects in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented business environment.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
- Excellent communication skills and styles, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively present information to internal and external associates.
