Job Description

Motus Retail (Parts Strategy) currently holds a vacancy for a Parts Strategy Manager. The Parts Strategy Manager will be responsible for key accounts for the whole of the Motus Retail Division.

Reporting to the Managing Director (Motus Retail 1), this position will be suited to a candidate that will be able to maximize profits by ensuring maximum sales of parts to trade and retail customers across multiple brands and by maintaining exceptional parts service standards to customers and group dealerships. Ensuring the highest degree of Customer Satisfaction as well as ensuring that all requirements and targets are met and exceeded.

Position Overview

The candidate should be able to confidently present monthly performance results to senior management, demonstrating strong communication skills and the ability to effectively engage and speak in front of senior leaders.

This role requires a proactive and results-oriented individual who can effectively balance sales growth with outstanding service delivery.

Specific Role Responsibilities

Key Customer Management

  • Personally manage top customer relationships on a daily basis.
  • Develop and execute a strategy to manage the top 100 key accounts.
  • Ensure all necessary items are sold to support customer requirements with a customer-centric approach.
  • Maintain absolute clarity and promptness in all customer communications.
  • Attend to inquiries efficiently and ensure all orders meet customer requirements with proper follow-ups.

Sales and Profitability Management

  • Expand the customer base by introducing additional brands to existing panel beaters, where applicable.
  • Ensure that discounts are authorized, monitored, and kept to a minimum.
  • Lead a team of five highly driven sales staff.
  • Monitor sales to focus on sustainable profitability.
  • Organize sales promotions and initiate parts sales events.
  • Create and implement marketing and sales plans for parts.
  • Ensure all lost sales are recorded and utilized to improve performance.
  • Hold weekly meetings to address opportunities, issues, and sales performance.

Budget and Financial Oversight

  • Achieve departmental budget objectives.
  • Monitor and control discounts, taking corrective action when necessary.
  • Manage all budgetary spending within targets and discuss significant variances with the Managing Director and Financial Director.
  • Monitor overheads and stock values, including a fleet of over 300 cars.
  • Report on debtor situations and highlight deviations from policy.
  • Operate within the purchasing budget.

Reporting and Analysis

  • Become proficient in company systems and reporting modules.
  • Ensure all daily, weekly, and monthly reports are accurate, prompt, and thoroughly analyzed.

Customer Credit and Payment Monitoring

  • Monitor customer credit facilities to ensure timely payments.
  • Oversee the credit application process and manage the allocation of credit limits for parts strategy customers.

Staff Development and Performance

  • Recruit, select, train, and remunerate staff to meet industry standards.
  • Conduct performance appraisals at least twice a year and act on results.
  • Ensure high staff performance standards, reviewed monthly against set benchmarks.
  • Maintain training standards and keep staff updated on model changes, new introductions, and accessories.

Collaboration and Coordination

  • Cooperate with other departments on campaigns.
  • Examine major transactions to identify ways to improve customer service.
  • Ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and shared with relevant departments.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Matric/Senior Certificate or Equivalent (NQF Level 4 qualification)
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Clear Criminal Record
  • A minimum of 3 years Parts Manager experience is essential.
  • Customer centric, sales background
  • Motor industry experience is essential
  • Must have excellent verbal communication skills
  • Computer literacy is essential
