Job title: Employee Relations Practitioner (Centurion)

Job Location: Gauteng, Centurion

We seek a candidate with exceptional interpersonal skills for the role of Employee Relations Practitioner, to provide expert and professional advice on all employee relations matters, in line with applicable legislation and company policy. As an Employee Relations Practitioner, you will be required to provide labour law advice to the business and prepare legal opinions where required.

You will also be required to represent the company at the CCMA and ensure that the company is informed of and adheres to all applicable labour legislation and company policies and procedures. You will be employed by a well-established company with strong values, which are customer-centric.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  1. Providing expert and professional advice on all employee relations matters, in line with relevant legislation and policy.
  2. Ensuring consistent implementation of the Group's policies and procedures.
  3. Ensuring the finalisation of ER related processes within the prescribed time frames.
  4. Managing disciplinary processes, ensuring compliance with labour laws and company policies.
  5. Conducting investigations, preparing reports, and facilitating hearings as needed.
  6. Facilitating grievances and assisting the parties to resolve the issues through mediation, where necessary.
  7. Maintaining accurate records of all employee relations cases, ensuring proper documentation of investigations, actions taken, and outcomes.
  8. Controlling risk exposure and ensuring that the systems, controls and processes are appropriate and relevant.
  9. Ensuring that all employee relations practices comply with South African labour laws, including the Labour Relations Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act, and other relevant regulations.
  10. Supporting the Senior Employee Relations Practitioners and Manager to draft and amend employment related documents.
  11. Supporting the Senior Employee Relations Practitioners and Manager in respect of policy review and drafting policies in line with changing legislative requirements and business methods.
  12. Drafting of letters, notices etc.
  13. Providing efficient labour law advice to management through recommendations, memos and consultations.
  14. Managing statistical data relevant to IR and compiling reports for analysis and drafting recommendations to management regarding problematic issues and how they should be resolved.
  15. CCMA attendance and administrative/logistical support in respect of CCMA and Labour Court litigation for Senior Employee Relations Practitioners and Manager.
  16. Assisting in the compiling of annual planned budgets, and Exco Reports.
  17. Assisting in invoicing and tracking of budget.
  18. Ad hoc duties.

Requirements:

  1. LLB Hons degree
  2. 3 years Labour Law experience
  3. Admitted Attorney (advantageous)
