Direct Reporting Line: Head of Finance and Accounting

Job Purpose: IIE MSA, since April, is part of The Independent Institution of Education (The IIE), a leader in the higher education sphere. The IIE is internationally recognised by the British Accreditation Council. IIE MSA, located on a -hectare campus in Ruimsig, Johannesburg, in the province of Gauteng, is home to a diverse range of cultures of students from 50 African countries.

Vacancy: Lecturer in the School of Finance and Accounting Department for the Qualification: Faculty of Commerce (Taxation 3)

Key Performance Areas

1. Conducting lectures, tutorials, workshops, and seminars.
2. Providing study guidance, learning support, consultation, and mentoring of students.
3. Marking and grading of student assessments.
4. A range of administrative functions connected to the discipline and modules being taught.
5. Involvement within Teaching & Learning activities.
6. Other duties commensurate to the position as required.

Competencies Required

1. Demonstrated capability to lecture, conduct tutorials and seminars at tertiary level effectively in the core courses stipulated at the highest academic level.
2. Expertise in e-learning programs such as Blackboard and Moodle.
3. Up-to-date knowledge of curriculum areas being taught at the highest academic level.
4. High level of communication skills in verbal, written, and electronic modes.
5. Proven high-level administrative abilities.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

1. Chartered Accountant OR
2. Certificate in the Theory of Accounting (CTA) OR
3. Honours/Post-graduate qualification in the accountancy field (for one of the above subjects) OR
4. NQF level 9 qualification in the accountancy field (for the above subjects).

Work Experience Requirements

1. At least 3 years' lecturing experience in a similar higher education role at a tertiary institution.
2. Lecturing experience in Taxation is preferable.
3. Completed training contract at a registered firm of Chartered Accountants.
