Applications are invited for the above-mentioned position in the Packaging Department based at Supply Chain Plant, Nederburg in Paarl. The successful incumbent will report to the Plant Manager.

Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to:

1. Achieve production KPI’s against targets.
2. Adherence and Attainment to Production Plan (PCTS).
3. Production Order Variances.
4. Operational Expenditure budgeting and control (R/hL).
5. OPI NONA & Line Performance.
6. Efficient Asset utilization.
7. Achieve product quality.
8. Managing people.
9. Managing capital and NPD projects, trials, and feasibility studies.
10. See to annual maintenance plan of all equipment within department (Adherence to Planned maintenance).
11. Management of all quality systems.
12. Develop and implement annual departmental business plans and assist in site’s business plan.
13. Establish a positive and disciplined environment with staff and manage all HR issues within department.
14. Effectively manage performance and drive TPM processes and implementation.
15. Promote and drive skills development within department.
16. Actively participate in daily and weekly management meetings.
17. Must be able to work under pressure and address queries associated with department.
18. Innovation and business improvements in support of operational and segment goals.

The successful candidate must have the following experience/skills:

1. Strong leadership capabilities.
2. Strong technical aptitude.
3. Degree as minimum qualification (NQF7 equivalent or above).
4. Packaging experience in an FMCG environment.
5. World Class Manufacturing/TPM exposure (e.g. problem solving, visual management).
6. Minimum of 3 to 5 years supervisory/management role.
7. Strong problem solving and RCA (root cause analysis) abilities.
8. People management and leadership skills.
9. High level of computer literacy in SAP & Microsoft O365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
10. Innovative and drive best practices.
