Packaging Designer (3 Months FTC)

Introduction:

We are looking for a Retail focused, Packaging Designer to join our Packaging design team.

Experience in packaging design is a must and solid agency experience is required.

Job Description:

1. To deliver world-class advertising across the brands by delivering the best creative solutions for our clients to support the achievement of their marketing, communication, and financial objectives.
2. To develop brand-consistent creativity for a variety of print materials that support key marketing initiatives across all design platforms.
3. To conceptualise and execute high-priority projects across multiple brands.
4. To drive brand consistency in line with the relevant marketing communications by adhering to CI guidelines.
5. To work closely and collaboratively within a team, Traffic, Client Service, and the Clients to ensure a smooth workflow and delivery of work while ensuring the creative brief are met.
6. To be aligned with the status of work in progress at all times to ensure deadlines are met and manage own timelines. To present all creative artwork making sure work maintains an excellent level of quality and design.
7. To mentor junior designers and DTP to ensure timely delivery and correct interpretation of creative briefs/projects.

Minimum requirements

Education:

Design qualification in Art direction or Graphic Design from a recognized institution (Degree or diploma) or proven working track record in the Retail design field specifically in the Brand and Packaging field.

Job Knowledge and Skills:

1. At least 6 years’ graphic design experience in Brand & Packaging design.
2. Must have experience in developing Brands conceptually as well as the ability to carry concept through to finished art.
3. Experience designing and rollout of all Packaging Design materials.
4. Solid understanding of industry print/technical standards.
5. Strong conceptual/Design skills and Style.
6. Ability to do 3D mockups/renders for presentations.
7. Mac Literate, as well as technical knowledge and proficiency of design software essential (Latest Adobe Creative Suite: Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop).
8. Photo retouching & editing – would be advantageous.
9. Organised and with excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to assignments is essential.
10. Excellent time management, ability to multitask and work well under pressure.
11. Good written and verbal Communication Skills.
12. Team player.
13. Positive can-do attitude.
14. Willing to be a team player and put in the extra effort.
