Optimization Analyst (Contract role)

Our client is a well-established and reputable boutique Asset Management company that is now seeking a skilled individual to join their business on a 6-month contractual basis (with potential for permanent placement). This role focuses on optimising workflows, automating processes, and improving reporting accuracy across the Operations and Investment teams.

Key Requirements:

1. Education: Degree in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
2. Experience: 3-5 years of experience in operations, quantitative and/or technical support within investment management or asset management is preferred.
3. Skills: Strong quantitative analysis, problem-solving, and technical proficiency in tools such as VBA, Power BI, and Python are preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Workflow Optimization: Automate routine tasks and improve efficiency, particularly with Excel workbooks and reporting systems.
2. Process Improvements: Build macros, identify inefficiencies, and improve both internal and external deliverables for the team.
3. Trading & Investment Support: Streamline trading processes and enhance the efficiency of trading files and documents sent to brokers, whilst improving controls.

Key Qualities (Characteristics) of the Ideal Candidate:

1. Strong mathematical and computational skills.
2. Experience in asset or investment management preferred.
3. A proactive, solution-driven mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally across the Operations and Investment teams.

Contract Details:

1. Duration: 6 months (with potential for permanent role).
2. Salary: Negotiable based on experience.
3. Location: Onsite 5 days a week in Claremont office (Cape Town)
