JOB SUMMARY
The Operations Planning team at the Transmission Control Center is responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable operation of the Georgia Integrated Transmission System through providing analysis and coordination of 12,+ clearance requests required to support construction and maintenance projects across Georgia.
The Operations Planning Project Manager will serve as a point of contact and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for operational input for transmission projects including interconnection and customer choice projects, from initial siting through energization. In addition, they will identify and address operational risks associated with grid transformation and ensure preparedness of any operational challenges.

Experience & Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or Associate degree is required - Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering technology degree is preferred.
At least 5 years of combined experience in power system control center operations and/or transmission construction, maintenance, planning or design (required).
Expertise in modeling and power system analysis (required).
Knowledge of transmission switching and clearance practices (preferred).
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of bulk power system planning and operations.
Expertise in modeling and power system analysis.
Proficiency in power flow and power system analysis software.
Understanding of the electric utility industry, especially in the development, design, and construction of generation facilities.
Basic knowledge and understanding of renewable energy resources, including solar generation, battery energy storage systems, and microgrids.
Understanding of the impact of high penetration Inverter-Based Resources (IBRs) on bulk power system operations.
Awareness of bulk power system operational risks, such as wide-area events, generation/load curtailment, and power quality issues.
Knowledge of project management processes for coordinating capital project outages.
Ability to develop and implement effective training programs and provide real-time support as a Subject Matter Expert (SME).
Effective communication skills with diverse stakeholders and the ability to build consensus across organizations.
Proven ability to work collaboratively with multi-discipline teams of engineers and analysts.
Effective project management skills, including managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
Other Requirements:
Must meet all physical and cyber security requirements including participation in the Insider Threat Program.
The successful candidate must live within commutable distance of the Transmission Control Center or be willing to relocate.
Relocation assistance is available if qualified.
