OPERATIONS PLANNING COORDINATOR
We have an exciting career opportunity for an Operations Planning Coordinator, supporting our Planning team based at our Somerset West office. We are looking for a self-motivated, deadline-driven, and detail-oriented individual with a willingness to learn. The main purpose of the role is to coordinate fruit handling operations, update and execute supply plans, and ensure seamless communication among stakeholders to meet the required demand.
Responsibilities:
Optimize Harvest Schedules: Coordinate harvest delivery schedules, ensuring efficient fruit handling through careful RA/CA allocations.
Efficient Delivery & Storage: Monitor and review daily deliveries, managing CA plans to ensure smooth delivery and storage coordination.
Tactical Planning: Draft and communicate weekly presort plans while coordinating rebin RA/CA allocations for seamless operations.
Bin Allocation & Stock Management: Monitor bin allocation, ensuring accurate bin ageing and stock levels for effective inventory management.
Supply & Demand Alignment: Collaborate with the Operations Planner to align the supply plan with fluctuating demand, identifying and reporting deviations.
Internal Coordination: Oversee internal bin transfers between packhouses, assisting in the loading and opening of CA rooms for presorting and packing.
Empty Bin Movements: Ensure the successful execution of the weekly empty bin schedule and coordinate movements between agents and growers.
Lead Operations Meetings: Facilitate weekly operations meetings, clearly communicating plans with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
Requirements:
Tertiary qualification in Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
1-2 years of relevant experience, preferably within a fruit packaging environment.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to handle data-driven decisions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with cross-functional teams.
Proficiency in Excel and experience with operational planning tools.
Willingness to work over weekends during peak season as needed.
Own vehicle and a valid driver’s license are essential due to travel requirements between operational units.
