Job Description

Old Mutual Finance was established in 2008 to provide unsecured lending products and services to the SA market. The business started with a staff compliment of 34 and has since grown to over 3000 staff with more than 300 branches nationally. Within our branches we offer insurance, lending products as well as servicing.

Old Mutual Finance is currently seeking to hire a Senior Human Capital Business Partner. This role is accountable for translating the Segment People Strategy and business strategy into a Business Unit People Plan. The successful incumbent will report directly to the OMF Head of Human Capital.

This role is accountable for translating the Segment People Strategy and business strategy into a Business Unit People Plan. This role partners with Business Unit executives to deliver the Business Unit People Plan. Individually accountable for achieving results through the other HRBPs.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the Human Capital compliance function.
  • Develop functional or operational processes in compliance with company policies and procedures meet compliance requirements including Privacy, SOP, BCP, Regulatory Exams.
  • Oversee the compliance maintenance and Fit & Proper learning and ensure delivery as per regulations.
  • Oversee compliance projects and OMF Employee Relations portfolio ensuring alignment to Group Employee Relations and HC governance.
  • Maintaining engagements and stakeholder relationships with unions.
  • Ensure buy-in and partnership from business stakeholders ito of adherence to regulatory and compliance governances.

Requirements:

  • Relevant Bachelor’s Degree
  • A postgraduate degree will be advantageous.
  • Eight (8) years HR Generalist experience.
  • 3-4 years experience in managing HC professionals.
  • Demonstrated Employee Relations experience.
  • Previous working experience with unions advantageous.
  • Comfortable delivering within tight deadlines in an agile environment.
  • Ability to manage complex and highly confidential information.

Policy Development and Implementation

Develop functional or operational policies and help develop policy frameworks for area of responsibility or department. Take responsibility for creating underlying procedures and monitoring their implementation.

HR Frameworks and Tools

Lead the development of HR frameworks and tools for recruitment, performance management, development, career and succession planning, compensation and benefits, diversity, employee onboarding and offboarding, and retention of talent for a significant area of responsibility, ensuring compliance with external requirements and integration with the broader corporate policy framework. Enable the attraction, development, and retention of talent at a sustainable cost.

Information and Business Advice

Provide authoritative specialist advice to senior managers at the business unit or regional level to enable the implementation of policy, projects, and change initiatives.

HR Data Analytics and Insights

Develop and investigate multiple hypotheses, using a wide range of HR data to diagnose underlying causes of key business issues and identify opportunities to enhance employee engagement and/or improve business performance.

Employee Relations Case Management

Lead the investigation and resolution of employee relations cases, taking personal responsibility for unique, complex, and/or highly confidential cases that require deep investigation.

HR Data Management

Specify and manage the implementation of HR data requirements for an important area of responsibility within the HR function to meet the organization's management information needs and to support key processes and procedures.

Personal Capability Building

Act as subject matter expert in an area of technology, policy, regulation, or operational management for the team and beyond in the function. Maintain external accreditations and in-depth understanding of current and emerging technologies, external regulation, and industry best practices through continuing professional development, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.

Internal Client Relationship Management

Manage relationships with strategic internal clients and act as a business partner to them, building high levels of professional credibility and mutual trust, and mobilizing appropriate internal and/or external resources to support in delivering business strategy and plans.
