SERVEST SECURITY, A BUSINESS UNIT OF SERVEST HAS A VACANCY FOR AN OHS TRAINING OFFICER IN THE INLAND REGION.
THIS POSITION REPORTS DIRECTLY TO THE CONTRACT MANAGER AND IS BASED IN SANDTON.
Minimum Requirements
National Senior Certificate / Grade 12.
Diploma / Higher Certificate in a SHEQ related field or equivalent.
SAMTRAC / NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent occupational SHEQ training.
ISO implementation and internal auditor certificates will be an advantage.
Auditing exposure / experience.
Proven experience of implementing SHEQ in multiple / complex environments.
Exposure to and understanding of implementation of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Food Safety, Environmental Acts, ISO standards.
Minimum 2 years' relevant experience in SHEQ.
Proficient in various computer programs such as MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Data analysis and research skills.
Self-motivated with the ability to work under minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Enforcing safety processes and procedures.
Conduct regular inspections on equipment and processes to identify hazards, risks, and non-compliance issues.
Ensure equipment is calibrated.
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and prepare reports documenting root causes, contributing factors, and corrective actions taken.
Monitor and enforce compliance with SHE regulations, standards, and procedures, and communicate requirements and expectations to employees.
Participate in emergency response planning and drills, and coordinate emergency preparedness and response activities as needed.
Maintain records and documentation of SHE activities, inspections, training, incidents, and corrective actions, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality.
Regular post inspection to ensure that officers are following procedures as per job.
Provide on-job training for Security personnel.
Conduct toolbox talks for Security personnel.
Check and book medical fitness for personnel.
Inspect and issue uniforms to Security personnel.
Assist with administration and operational tasks.
Monitor safety files and ensure they are up to date as per OHSA.
Monthly inspection of first aid boxes.
Send monthly compliance reports to Sasol Management.
Assist service providers with onsite induction.
