Job title : Office Manager : Research and Technology Development Services (Elsenburg / Stellenbosch), Ref No. AGR 13 / 2025

Job Location : Western Cape, Stellenbosch

Deadline : April 06, 2025

Job Purpose

The Department of Agriculture, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a suitably qualified and competent individual to manage a comprehensive research support service to the Senior Manager.

Minimum Requirements

  1. An appropriate 3-year National Diploma / B-Degree (equivalent or higher qualification);
  2. A minimum of 3 years management experience in rendering executive support functions to Senior Management;
  3. A valid code B or higher driving licence. NB: People with disabilities that restrict driving abilities, but who have reasonable access to transport, may also apply.

Recommendation

  1. Proven experience in administration and executive management support functions;
  2. Working knowledge of how government departments function and how the different spheres of government operate.

Key Performance Areas

  1. Manage Research Project Process of Programme;
  2. Render line administrative support services;
  3. Execute research, analyse information and compile complex documents for the Senior Manager;
  4. Provide support to the Senior Manager with regard to meetings;
  5. Manage resources of the Office of the Senior Manager;
  6. Remain up to date with regard to the applicable prescripts / policies and procedures applicable to his / her work terrain to ensure efficient and effective support to the Senior Manager.

  1. Knowledge of the following: Project management; Government practices and policies; Human resource management, labour relations and human capital development; Financial management, prescripts and legislation, inclusive of PFMA and Treasury guidelines;
  2. Skills needed: Proven computer literacy; Written and verbal communication; Independent functioning; Ability to work under pressure; Well organised; Service orientation; Trustworthy and professionalism.
