Occupational Hygiene Practitioner - Mining, EE

EXPERIENCE: 3 years | QUALIFICATION: NQF 6 in Occupational Health

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

1. Anticipate, recognize, evaluate, and control stressors related to work and environment.
2. Occupational health risk assessment and evaluation.
3. COP management.
4. Sampling.
5. Audits, investigations, and inspections.
6. Laboratory management.
7. Reporting and data integrity control.
8. SHERQ adherence.
9. Work Ethics.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Grade 12.
2. Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health.
3. Intermediate Certificate: Mine Environmental Control Technologist Level: Southern African Institute for Occupational Hygiene.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

1. Medically fit.
2. Valid Code B/EB driver's license.
3. Legal Appointment.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of three (3) years Operational Occupational Hygiene Practitioner experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

1. Computer literacy: Basic user of MS Office, Achiever, and Isometrix.
2. Statutory Knowledge: Working knowledge of MHSA, Hazardous Chemical Substance Act, OHSA, COIDA (basic knowledge).
3. Influencing Skills: Ability to influence line managers and employees regarding occupational health-related matters.
4. Equipment usage: Personal sampling pumps and accessories, calibrators, noise dosimeters, temperature stress monitor, vibration monitor, real-time analyzers, scales, lux meters, sound level meter.
5. Sampling methodologies: NIOHS methodologies working knowledge.

REGISTRATION:

1. SA Institute of Occupational Hygienist (SAIOH).
2. Mine Ventilation Society Intermediate certificate.

TERMS & CONDITIONS:

The candidate will be appointed on the condition of being certified medically fit as per Mine Health and Safety Act 29/1996.

Remuneration will be based on a competitive all-inclusive flexible package.
