Role Description

This is an on-site contract role for an Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner located in Brits for a site clinic starting on Monday, 16th September 2024 to work Mondays and Fridays from 08H00-14H30 and Wednesdays from 09H30-16H00. The Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for providing primary care services, focusing on occupational health. This includes assessing and managing workplace injuries and illnesses, promoting and maintaining employee health and safety, conducting health surveillance, and working closely with employers to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.

Desired Qualifications & Experience:

  • Qualified in Occupational Health Nursing
  • Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)
  • Certificate in Audiometry registered with SASOHN
  • Certificate in Spirometry and Vision Screening
  • 3-5 years experience in the Occupational Health setting
  • Effective Client Liaison Communication
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Presentation skills
  • Computer literacy
  • Professional conduct with good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
  • Experience with occupational health regulations and standards

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Management of the Occupational Health Clinic
  • Management of the screening equipment
  • Occupational Health Risk Assessments
  • Conducting medical examinations
  • IOD Management
  • Clinic compliance
  • Clinic administration
  • Generating monthly reports
  • Conducting Occupational Health or Primary Health Care talks as per the year planner or as required
  • Primary health care and chronic management
  • Incapacity and Disability Management
  • Dispensing medicine
