Nursing Manager - Newcastle

As the leading medical recruitment agency in South Africa, our client has an exciting opportunity for a Nursing Manager based in Newcastle, KZN, South Africa. The Nursing Manager is to lead and direct the nursing service in the hospital, including patient safety and patient experience and the management of human and other resources.

Responsibilities:

• Compile, implement and monitor the hospital-specific nursing strategy
• Drive and support a culture of quality nursing care and patient safety
• Manage resources to ensure optimal operational efficiency
• Manage the patient experience
• Lead and manage people in the nursing department
• Manage key stakeholder relations
• Infection prevention and control
• Continuous improvement and quality assurance methodologies
• Clinical risk management
• Management of staff productivity
• Financial management
• Nursing functional knowledge
• Relevant nursing legislation
• Auditing and accreditation processes
• Human resource processes including employee relations
• Patient complaint management

Requirements:

• Professional Nurse qualification with Midwifery with valid SANC
• Postgraduate Diploma in Health Services Management or an Accredited Management Qualification
• 5 years’ Professional Nurse Experience in a private hospital
• 2 years’ Nursing Management Experience

Salary is market related.
