Non Motor Field Assessor (JG8)

This career opportunity is available at Non-Motor region and the successful incumbent will be based in East London.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

1. Receiving instruction from Claims Service Consultant (appraisal notes & docs).
2. Checking completion and correctness of document and policy conditions.
3. Planning routes for claims, making arrangements and contacting clients.
4. Identifying what is required and outstanding from clients.
5. Deciding on what must be investigated and whether specialist expertise is required (builder, engineer).
6. Assessing risk to provide recommendations to underwriting.
7. Appointing specialist resources if required.
8. Interacting with the police, weather bureau, etc. to assess merit.
9. Comparing information collected to the policy requirements and claim details presented.
10. Determining equivalent replacement and assessing risk.
11. Deciding and negotiating on replacement/cash/claims card.
12. Authorizing repairs/cash settlement.
13. Writing Claims Report and updating the central claims file.
14. Handling and resolving client/broker complaints in a timely and fair manner.
15. Managing relationships with clients, brokers, service providers, and internal stakeholders (relationship managers, claims committee, opinions from underwriters).
16. Ensuring effective and continuous communication with all stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

1. Matric (Grade 12) with Mathematics.
2. Five (5) years' or more relevant experience at digital non-motor level (full spectrum), field assessing experience advantageous.
3. Seven (7) or more years' relevant claims assessment experience (non-motor) (full spectrum).

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

1. All relevant product training completed.
2. Familiar with IM external systems.
3. Must have experience in adjusting process, assessor reporting tools, building terminology, repair estimation on building damage, indemnity issues, non-standard roofing (thatching, floor coverings, gyproc), building repair calculator and advanced electronic equipment.
4. Ability to conduct investigations on buildings, its contents, and fire.
