Job Summary

Our client in the Insurance industry is looking for a Heavy Commercial Vehicle Underwriter to underwrite Commercial and Agricultural policies.

Key responsibilities

1. Quoting on commercial risks
2. Underwriting of new and renewal business on HCV & GIT risks.
3. Ensuring that risks are written within the company's risk appetite and complies within the reinsurance treaties and internal mandates.
4. Monitoring and taking corrective action on badly performing risks.
5. Maintain an acceptable loss ratio.
6. Maintain policy wording drafts and ensure that the product remains competitive with market offering.
7. Dealing with day to day queries and amendments to existing policies.
8. Providing brokers with advice.
9. Maintaining and building good customer relationships with brokers.
10. Conducting product training to brokers.
11. Provide input into building and designing various aspects of the products on a designated system.
12. Provide comparisons between the competitors' products and the company's products.

Requirements

1. 5-7 years commercial underwriting experience
2. Experience in working with HCV & GIT related products
3. Proven track record of underwriting experience e.g. assessing exposure and underwriting levels
4. Very good communication skills
5. Successfully completed the RE 5 Examination Level 1
