Job description

The Night Auditor at La Residence is an important role in the hotel operation, on duty from 19.00 - 07.00 daily.

In the absence of most staff and Senior Management, they are required to deliver on The Royal Portfolio's Purpose, which is "To give our guests a complete experience and a perfect stay".

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Adherence to company policies and procedures
  2. Welcoming all Guests upon arrival
  3. Dealing with Guest queries and arranging assistance as necessary
  4. Be on the floors at all times, ensuring that the Front Office is staffed to attend to Guests browsing through the Curio Shop
  5. Work hand in hand with the Front Desk team and other departments
  6. Assist guests with information about the services at the hotel and surroundings
  7. Ensure every guest leaves the hotel with the best guest service experience
  8. Assist with escorting departing guests to the door and engaging with them about their stay
  9. Build relationships with all Guests
  10. Build and maintain a strong culture in Front Office
  11. Maintain communication within the Hotel, other departments, and security regarding guest movements
  12. Ability to work accurately under pressure
  13. Ensure all relevant reports have been printed and distributed to the respective departments (handovers, breakfast packs, etc.)
  14. Audit FOH cash up and corresponding account allocations
  15. Audit hotel transactions and corresponding account allocations
  16. Run End of Day Function on Opera
  17. Ensure Front of House, Front Office & the rest of the property grounds are neat and tidy at all times
  18. Manage Hotel in absence of Department Heads
  19. Manage night security and facilitate any irregularities
  20. Ability to take initiative and make judgment calls regarding complaints (considering spend and adequate gifting/room drops/vouchers)
  21. Constantly monitor PMS and Guest profiling to ensure the team updates required information; nationalities, address, remarks, preferences, contact details
  22. Update and share Guest Feedback with executive and management team
  23. Ensure night-to-night Guest services such as document handling, wake-up calls, etc., are carried out timeously and accurately

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Hospitality Diploma advantageous or at least 2 years' experience in a 5-star Hotel or 1 year’s experience in a Front Office environment
  2. Demonstrated excellent English written and verbal communication skills
  3. A strong grasp of operational systems (Micros POS and Opera) and computer literacy in Microsoft Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
  4. Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
  5. Ability to work long hours, day and night, including weekends and holidays
  6. International experience in a similar environment and traveling experience will be advantageous
  7. Driver's license essential, own transport a plus
  8. Knowledge of Franschhoek and surrounding areas
  9. It is important that the candidate is able to work as part of a team and is a good cultural fit for The Royal Portfolio

South African citizenship is advantageous.

A valid work permit is essential if you are not in possession of a South African ID document.
