NDT LEVEL 2 TECHNICIAN to be based in Boksburg

We're hiring: NDT Level 2 Technician (Ultrasonic testing (UT) level II AND Magnetic particle testing (MPI) level II)

We're looking for a skilled and detail-oriented NDT Level 2 Technician.

In this role, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) services — specifically ultrasonic and magnetic particle testing — to ensure the integrity of components and compliance with safety and quality standards.

The Top Priorities Of The Role Are:

  • Perform various types of NDT methods, especially ultrasonic testing and magnetic particle testing.
  • Examine products for possible internal and external defects.
  • Ensure the best practice techniques are properly and consistently utilized for inspection activities.
  • Ensure compliance to applicable company systems requirements and maintain traceability of components.
  • Ensure completion of documentation associated with projects.
  • Sentencing of components based on the applicable specification.
  • Ensure effective segregation of non-conforming products.

Non-negotiable Requirements:

THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE ARE:

  • A Matric (National Senior Certificate) AND Level II NDT testing certifications in both Ultrasonic Testing (UT) and Magnetic Particle Testing (MPI).
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in NDT with a specific focus on ultrasonic inspection and magnetic particle testing.
  • Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding abilities, with the capability to read and interpret technical drawings, specification sheets, and inspection procedures.
  • Proficiency in MS Office packages, especially Word and Excel, for accurate documentation and compliance reporting.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team AND the willingness to work shifts.

Will Also Count In Your Favour If You Have:

  • Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) certification.
  • Liquid Penetrant Testing Level II qualification.
  • National Diploma in NDT.

Duties Will Include:

  • Perform NDT Methods: Carry out Ultrasonic (UT) and Magnetic Particle (MPI) testing to detect internal and external defects.
  • Inspect Products: Identify irregularities in components that could impact quality or performance.
  • Apply Best Practices: Use approved inspection techniques consistently across all NDT activities.
  • Interpret Technical Information: Read technical drawings and procedures to guide accurate inspections.
  • Document and Maintain Traceability: Record results and ensure full traceability of inspected components.
  • Evaluate Components: Decide on component suitability based on specifications.
  • Segregate Non-Conforming Items: Isolate defective parts to prevent their use in production.
  • Troubleshoot Issues: Resolve problems during inspection to maintain quality standards.
  • Ensure Compliance: Follow company systems and quality requirements.
  • Maintain Equipment: Keep NDT equipment in proper working condition.
