Job description

Are you a dynamic leader with deep experience in managing Field & Branch service teams, Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI), and workshop operations within the heavy machinery industry? We are looking for an exceptional National Services Director to oversee our service operations and elevate the delivery of quality support to our customers. As a key leader in our organization, you will drive operational excellence, spearhead innovation, and ensure the highest standards in service delivery for our yellow machinery products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the field & branch service teams, PDI, and workshop teams to ensure timely, high-quality, and cost-effective service delivery.
  • Oversee and enhance the Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) process, ensuring all machinery meets strict quality control and safety standards before being delivered to customers.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve workshop efficiency, service operations, and overall customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure that field service teams are equipped with the necessary resources, training, and support to perform effectively and safely in the field.
  • Collaborate with engineering, sales, and customer service teams to identify and address customer needs and service opportunities.
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of industry trends, technologies, and regulations to keep our services competitive and compliant.
  • Monitor and analyze service performance metrics to identify areas of improvement, cost savings, and opportunities for growth.
  • Foster a customer-first mindset within the services team, ensuring the delivery of outstanding customer experiences.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of service managers, technicians, and workshop personnel. This includes but not limited to strategic development of internal technical skills and employee development.
  • Manage budgets and resources effectively to ensure profitability without compromising service quality.
  • Support and collaborate with the executive personnel e.g. The Chairman.

Key Requirements:

  • A qualified millwright plus a degree in Business Management or Engineering (or related field).
  • Proven track record of success in a senior service leadership role, ideally within the yellow machinery or heavy equipment industry.
  • Extensive experience in managing field and branch service teams, PDI, and workshop operations in a technical environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage diverse teams.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and operational aspects of heavy machinery.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a keen focus on continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with internal teams, customers, and external partners.
  • Strong business acumen with experience in budget management, resource allocation, and performance metrics.
