National Procurement Manager

We’re seeking an experienced and dynamic National Procurement Manager to join our team in a permanent capacity. This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic thinker with a strong background in procurement, supplier management, and process optimisation to make a long-term impact in a growing business.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Compliance & Risk Management:
   • Ensure that all procurement activities adhere to company policies and regulatory requirements.
   • Support internal and external audits.
2. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with finance, legal, and operations teams to align the procurement strategy with business objectives.
3. Performance & Continuous Improvement: Monitor procurement KPIs, leverage analytics for insight, and drive efficiency and value across the function.
4. Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the procurement team, set clear performance targets, and cultivate a high-performance culture.
5. Strategic Planning: Develop and implement forward-looking procurement strategies, policies, and best practices.
6. Supplier Management: Source, evaluate, and manage supplier relationships, with a focus on cost-effectiveness, service quality, and B-BBEE compliance.
7. Operational Excellence: Oversee procurement processes and workflow optimisation; and lead process automation initiatives.
8. Cost Management & Budgeting: Develop and manage procurement budgets, implement cost-saving measures and negotiate competitive contracts.
9. Special Projects: Support ad hoc business analyses and strategic initiatives as required.

Requirements:

1. A Degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field (NQF Level 7).
2. 7–10 years’ experience in senior procurement roles, with at least 5 years in a management capacity.
3. Experience in international logistics or freight forwarding (advantageous).
4. Proficiency in tools including Shipshape, Cargowise, SAP, Power BI, and Microsoft Excel.
5. Strong knowledge of internal controls and continuous process improvement.
