Job description

Applications are invited from persons interested to fill the above-mentioned position. The incumbent will be appointed on a permanent basis. The position is based in Braamfontein.

KEY OUTPUTS

  1. Manage and maintain the Microsoft Server environment.
  2. Administer the MS Active Directory.
  3. Administration of MS System Centre.
  4. Administer and maintain Microsoft's Unified Communications Solution (Exchange and GSM network).
  5. Administer and maintain Internet Information Services servers (IIS).
  6. Manage and maintain the ESXi Virtual Infrastructure (ESXi 6.7 or later).
  7. Administer the SAP user account together with the SAP Project Manager.
  8. Installation of ESXi 6.7 or later servers, vSphere Client, Vcentre 6.x or VCSA 6.7 Server.
  9. Installation and configuration of Update Manager for patching of all ESXi Servers.
  10. Manage and maintain VMware vSphere Management Assistant (vMA).
  11. Installation and configuration of VMware VDR for taking snapshots of critical VMs and restoring from snapshot in the event of a disaster.
  12. Manage and maintain the realise Operations Manager.
  13. Manage and maintain VMware vSphere Site Recovery Manager (SRM).
  14. Ensure DR Site is always available and ready in the event of a disaster.
  15. Monitor replication jobs on a daily basis.
  16. Capacity planning and monitoring of VMware Infrastructure including SANs and physical servers.
  17. Manage backups using backup Veeam Software.
  18. Setup and manage replication of critical servers between Head Office and DR.
  19. Efficiently maintain and update Policies & Procedures.
  20. Administer and maintain Fax Server.
  21. Monitor usage of software.
  22. Test alignment and integration of software and hardware.
  23. Schedule systems software maintenance periods.
  24. Define and plan changes to software configuration.
  25. Assist in the maintenance of the server hardware installation.

PETENCIES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ATTRIBUTES) REQUIRED

  1. A recognised Grade 12 Certificate.
  2. A minimum of three years' Information Technology qualification obtained at University / Technikon.
  3. Three-year relevant work experience in an IS Department of which two years are in the VMware Virtualised environment and Microsoft Operating systems.
  4. Microsoft Certified Solution Expert, e.g. MCSE, MCSE or equivalent will be an advantage.
  5. Veeam Certified (advantage).
  6. VMware Certified Associate (advantage).
  7. DELL EMC Certified (advantage).
  8. Drivers licence and car required.
