This position reports to the Head of Category Marketing for Food & Retail of Mr D.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead the conceptualization, implementation, and management of high-impact promotional marketing campaigns to enhance brand visibility and drive food orders on the Mr D platform.
- Oversee the update and maintenance of the Mr D Demand Planner and promotional calendar, ensuring alignment with strategic business goals for food vertical initiatives, including strategic planning for weekly deals and monthly promo campaigns.
- Develop comprehensive knowledge of consumer target markets and lead the creation of meaningful promotional strategies that resonate with these audiences.
- Partner with the merchandising team to optimize customer conversion strategies and achieve business growth objectives within the Mr D app.
- Collaborate with the Food Merchandising, KAMs team, and cross-functional teams to develop, coordinate, and implement campaigns and promotions in alignment with strategic goals and promotional calendars.
- Drive strategic planning and execution of new feature launches, including the development of ongoing educational content on product features and differentiators to increase customer engagement.
- Provide strategic oversight and management of various campaigns, ensuring operational efficiency and effectiveness from conception to execution.
- Serve as a key liaison, working closely with brand, content, and social teams to leverage integrated marketing strategies for Mr D brand campaigns.
- Lead coordination with the social media team, ensuring a strategic approach to monthly content planning and management, as well as managing high-value paid influencer partnerships.
- Collaborate with internal specialist teams to design and execute performance media and CRM strategies aimed at growing orders and FTBs for Mr D.
- Establish strategic partnerships with Takealot Group marketing representatives for cohesive campaign execution, maximizing cross-selling opportunities, and tapping into new consumer bases.
- Monitor and evaluate campaign performance, delivering insightful monthly, weekly, and daily reports on promotional activities and strategic initiatives.
Skills, knowledge and abilities:
- A hands-on project manager with high attention to detail.
- A highly driven individual who is motivated to drive meaningful sales revenue for the business through retail marketing initiatives including promotions, product launches, and co-marketing opportunities with brands and third parties.
- A person who is a very strong relationship builder and can unlock opportunities with brands and third parties.
- Ability to identify key advertising opportunities and translate these into implementable plans.
- Motivated, and capable to focus on and hit aggressive growth targets.
- In-depth understanding of the advertising sales and tools.
- Skilled in managing high-value accounts and managing relationships at an executive level.
- Strong prioritization skills.

Qualifications and experience:
- Demonstrated success as a strategic leader with a proven track record in academic achievements and professional career.
- A minimum of a 3+ year degree in business, marketing, or communications. Post Graduate qualification is more preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in a senior retail and marketing role, with a focus on brand management and strategy.
- Substantial experience working across multiple marketing channels, including Digital, ATL, and Partnerships, with strong evidence of impactful results.
- Proven track record of leading successful brand projects and initiatives, with strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills to effectively influence and manage cross-functional teams.
